6.5 mile hiking and equestrian trail. The trail consists of two five-acre trailheads at the northwest and northeast ends of the lake. Each trailhead has ample parking. Open from sunrise to sunset, the trail has a small cost associated with its use. $5.00 for equestrians, $2.00 for hikers and free for children under 12. Aside from horses, no pets are allowed and bikes are also prohitibed.
Bicycling: The San Jacinto mountains offer about 200 miles of dirt roads and more than 40 miles of trails that are open to mountain bike riding. Bikes are not allowed within the San Jacinto or Santa Rosa wilderness areas or along the Pacific Coast Trail. more details

This ecological reserve consists of just under 7,000 acres. It is a habitat for numerous endangered, threatened and rare species of native California wildlife and has some of Southern California's last vernal pools.
