RTA provides both local and regional services throughout the region with 38 fixed-routes, five CommuterLink routes, and Dial-A-Ride services using 231 vehicles. In the cities of Corona, Beaumont and Banning, RTA coordinates regional services with municipal transit systems. In Riverside, RTA coordinates with the city’s Riverside Special Services, which provides ADA complementary service to RTA’s fixed-route services.
Light rail, such as the Blue Line and Green Line in Los Angeles and the San Diego Trolley, is the most flexible form of rail transit. Light rail can share streets with other vehicles, or it can operate in its own exclusive pathway. And, because the cars bend in the middle, light rail can make sharp turns and operate within existing streets
Taxi prices are generally the same competitive rate of $1.75 to enter the cab and $2.50 per mile ($0.25 per 1/10 mile).

Commuter rail systems consist of diesel locomotives that pull or push large passenger cars and are usually used for longer-distance trips. Local commuter rail systems include Metrolink, which provides service in Los Angeles. Orange, Ventura, San Bernadino, and Riverside counties, and the Coaster, which operates in northern and central San Diego County.
