Miramonte Winery

One of the newest wineries in Temecula, Miramonte Winery has already made a clear name for itself with its wonderful ambience, impressive wine program and one of the most stunning views in the valley. "We believe the enjoyment of wine should be a rich and lasting experience," says Cane Vanderhoof, espousing the winery's philosophy. "So, our tasting room is beautiful, our wines are handcrafted, our view is stunning, and our staff is warm-hearted, knowledgeable and real. For us, the experience begins with our wonderful wines --- and extends well beyond." With an annual production of about 5000 cases, Miramonte is the definition of a family run, boutique winery. In fact, most of its wines are produced in quantities of 1000 or less cases. Additionally, the wine program is beginning to place a clear focus on Rhone varietals. "Over the coming years we'll see some fantastic Rhone programs coming out of this valley," says Vanderhoof. "We'd like to be a clear leader in that movement." Accordingly, in the spring of 2002 the estate vineyard was replanted almost entirely to Syrah. The winery will produce an ultra premium estate wine that competes with some of the best wines in the world. Regularly hosting such special events as Cinema Classics, Flamenco Fridays and Tasting Classes at Miramonte, the winery is well on its way to establishing a unique identity for itself. "Fantastic wines and a full, rich and unique experience," he says. "This is what people have come to expect from us. And we wouldn't have it any other way."
