Alex's Red Barn Winery

The winery is owned and operated by the Yakut Family; composed of Alex and Lise Yakut . We have been in the wine industry for about twenty years, mostly as growers of prime quality wine grapes, and we sold our grapes to wineries throughout California and beyond. Our 25-acre vineyard was established by land developers in the 1960s to demonstrate the Temecula Valley area's wine grape growing capability to potential land purchasers. It was planted to Johannisberg Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, varieties found to excel in this coastal valley. We feature wine made from these grapes as Old Vine wines. We planted other varietals later, including Syrah, Viognier and Muscat Canelli. They are produced in our own vineyard, and we are of the opinion that they are truly exquisite. Alex's Red Barn Winery also features a rare Solera system that produces excellent Sherry wines in the tradition of historical Spanish sherry producers of Jerez de la Frontiera. It is our philosophy that great wines start with the cultivation of the grapes. We exercise the ultimate care in the growing of our grapes, which we then process with great attention to detail in our effort to make the best wines the area has to offer. We currently produce about 1200 cases annually. The public is welcome to taste our wines at the winery from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends and holidays. Tasting fee includes four wines and a souvenir glass. We have a beautiful tasting room, a Solera and charming patio area for picnics and special events.
