Our November 10 and 11 concerts are our salute to America's veterans and all those who put on our nation's uniform. We're especially grateful to concert sponsor Riverside Metro Auto Group, who have generously supported the Philharmonic and the community for many years. Naumberg Prize Winner, Dickran Atamain will star in Liszt's heroic knuckle busting 2nd Piano Concerto. Both concerts will take place at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium. The November 10th concert is at 8:00 p.m. and the November 11th is at 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Atamian has enjoyed a career that has spanned thirty years. In addition to winning the First Prize in the renowned Naumberg Piano Competition, he has also won the International Recording Competition, and the William Kapell International Piano Competition.
Patrick Flynn and the Philharmonic will perform Aaron Copland's Lincoln Portrait and popular works by John Williams, Tchaikovsky, George Gershwin and John Phillip Sousa. Prominent local attorney and former Philharmonic Board President Virginia Blumenthal will narrate Lincoln Portrait on Saturday evening and Major General Richard Roth, USAFR, Ret. will narrate the work on Sunday Afternoon.
